After 2 weeks and a half of struggling to find a job, I eventually found one, or rather 2. I’ve been hired in the two single places where I didn’t drop any resumes but where I only talked with the right person at the right moment. A lot of luck and a little bit of cheek! Usually, people who say “Leave us your resume, we’ll give you a call” never call back (in Perth at least).

First job : 5 mornings a week in a take-away restaurant. I serve customers, I prepare sandwiches at the back, in brief a straightforward job. Plus, the staff is super friendly, and it counts! Pais 17,50$/hour.

Second job : 3 afternoons a week in a Malaysian restaurant. Dish washing and serving food, not very interesting. But we save my diner at least Paid 12 $/hour, cash only (not very surprising… ).

The wages we can get here are not fantastic, but let us pay the bills and save a little bit for our road trip :P
